All i know is that your dress sounds stunning and intricate, so you wouldn't want the shoes to take too much attention off your dress by upstaging it with a bold colour. but if it was more of a plain base kinda colour with jewels, then it would more then likely compliment the dress.

      You should stick with blacks and silvers. Colors don't really match red...unless it's red or black :) Any colors with the red dress would look a little strange, and smoky eyes are supposed to be black and neutral type colors.       Yes, all black is good, with an aqua accessory, but not a tie...maybe an aqua "handkerchief" in the chest pocket (if he's wearing a tuxedo) or black elegant pants + white shirt + black watch (without aqua). Even if he doesn't have aqua on the clothes he'll "be on point" with black and white because these are non-colors and go well with any other color. But using an aqua handkerchief will be amazing. Especially if it is on silk. I said "no" to an aqua tie because it is too much ..

      if this is for prom, i think you should go somewhat dramatic but not too over-bearing because you dont want all the focus on your eyes (your dress needs some attention too!). so i would go for a brown smokey eye. here is a pic of a good example...

      Who gives a damn how other people treat you? You will be with your boyfriend, who is going to love what you wear no matter what. Don't go spend even more money on a dress just because someone said you aren't going to 'be treated nicely'. Screw them.       You see how the bottom of the dress is like curved? Thats in style now, it looks good. Just get it in black and white, and match it up with a pair off hott black pumps or heals. Blow dry your hair, and you will look perfect.
      Do not add leggings ! for any of these dresses! it wont look nice.
      if you HAVE to wear a shawl, then just whear one when you enter the party, then take it off, so you can show off your beautiful dress.

    Can I wash my "dry clean only" polyester dress?
    The tag says professional spot clean only. The dress and the lining are both 100% polyester. It's a long evening dress with some rhinestones or something on the halter neck. Think I can get away with hand washing it?

      Yes polyester is very washable. Just squeeze gently when you hand wash it and don't put it in the dryer. Hang it up or lay it flat to dry.

      That's a really cute dress, and you should go and buy some black leggings to go with it because if you wear jeans then it looks like its a shirt that's to big for you... some people disagree :) but you can get really nice ones at H&M and pretty much anywhere you go

    That's not the exact dress, but similar in style.
    I wear a DD bra size, so it's imperative that I have the right kind of support, I can't just go bra-less, it'd look like I was carrying around 2 huge water balloons, lol.

      Cutouts can be sexy, if it's to show off a belly (as long as it's pierced) or thigh.

      I think I prefer classic, though, as long as it is tight around the rear (I like to see a vague thongline), and I definitely prefer solid. I would therefore suggest the first dress.

      This depends on what kind of event. Is it a business event? A wedding? Business = of course you can wear a nice pantsuit, etc, but wedding, maybe a dress to be on the safe side. They could be saying "Ladies-Dresses" because it's easier than saying "Dresses, Pantsuits, Skirts and Blouses, Formal Separates", etc (the list could go on and on). Women have a much more complicated way of dressing up than men do.

      Sounds like your halter top is mighty fancy to me. I agree that halter tops are much more than casual wear since there are halter dresses as well. Of course, no jeans and t shirts and you should be okay depending on the event.

      If you want to be on the safe side, why don't you just wear separates? Your halter with a matching skirt? Perhaps this site will help you further.

    What kind of makeup should i wear to my brother's wedding?
    I have a purple satin halter dress, with a rhinestone at each corner above the bust where the halter strap is. I'm wearing black heels with the dress, and most likely having my hair down. I'm half-hispanic and half-white, so my skin is more like a pale beige. I'm most concerned about how i should makeup my eyes, but also concerned about the rest. I'm 15, so i'm not looking for anything too flashy.

      First, put on your regular foundation/concealer/powder or whatever you use on your face.
      I would do a smoky eye. First, brush your eyelid with light eyeshadow, a little past the crease. Next, using a Q-tip, get a dark brown, and brush that in a thin line across your eyelash roots/bottom of your eyelid. Put on some black-brown eyeliner and smudge it, then curl your eyelashes. After they are curled a little bit, apply 2 coats of your favorite mascara. Black works best. To make your eyes brighter, dab a tiny bit on concealer on the innermost part of your eye, and smudge it in a little. Apply blush, and voila!
